GOOD NEIGHBOR

AGENCY: THOUGHT MATTER
ROLE: ASSOCIATE STRATEGY DIRECTOR & COPYWRITER

Good Neighbor: Terms & Conditions was Thought Matter's 2026 NYCxDESIGN Festival experience exploring the invisible social contracts that shape everyday life in New York City.

As Associate Strategy Director, I led strategy and copywriting, authored the satirical newspaper and neighborhood flyers, contributed to the conceptual direction, installation development, and marketing campaign, and helped shape what became Thought Matter's most attended event to date. Grounded in a central question, What does it mean to be a good neighbor today?, the experience transformed our studio into a participatory neighborhood where hospitality and discomfort existed side by side.

Through satire, immersive installations, and civic storytelling, visitors encountered moments that blurred the line between connection and surveillance while exploring trust, boundaries, and belonging in public life. Inspired by the visual language of New York's streets, the project demonstrated how communication design doesn't simply reflect civic behavior. It actively shapes how people relate to one another.
